A Journey Sparked by Inspiration
Amber Nelms's first experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA therapy) was at a small center owned by a BCBA. It was a place filled with heart, where families felt included and communication was open. The warmth of that environment showed her what was possible when care is led by people who truly understand the field. That inspiration stayed with her and eventually guided her to open her own ABA therapy center built on the same values.
Understanding Families from Every Angle
Amber has seen ABA through both a parent's eyes and a clinician's lens. As a parent, she experienced the hope that comes when services are delivered with care. Later, as a BCBA, she saw what happens when families are left out and connection is missing. Living both sides of the story gave her clarity about what families and learners really need from behavior analysis services: open communication, genuine support, and a place where they feel part of their child's journey.
These experiences became the foundation for creating a center shaped by empathy and guided by trust, where every family knows they belong, and every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
Strengthening Autism Support Through Community
Parent and caregiver trainings have become a cornerstone of the community. These sessions offer practical tools, help families feel confident, and strengthen the bond between home and therapy. The approach is always simple, accessible, and easy to understand, which makes progress feel encouraging rather than overwhelming.
Beyond these trainings, the same care is reflected in everyday interactions. Many of the clinicians are also parents of children on the autism spectrum, giving them a natural depth of empathy that helps families feel truly understood. With tools like Brightwheel, caregivers can watch their child's progress unfold in real time, building trust and strengthening the sense of partnership between home and center.
Investing in Staff, Investing in Families
Supporting families and learners begins with caring for the team. New RBTs are given time to shadow, learn, and train in-house before ever leading a session on their own. This extra step may not be required by law, but it reflects a true investment in staff and sets the tone for behavior analysis services that are consistent and thoughtful. When staff feel prepared and confident, learners and families feel the difference.
The culture within the team is built with the same intention. Staff are encouraged, recognized, and celebrated for the work they do every day, and that sense of appreciation creates strong bonds and keeps morale high. Families and learners can feel the energy too, as walking into a space where people enjoy their work and value one another creates an approach that strengthens the impact of ABA therapy.
Creating a Welcoming First Experience for Families
Families often notice the difference the moment they arrive. Staff welcome them with warmth and take time to listen, which begins building trust right away. As they step further inside, the atmosphere continues to uphold that same feeling of care. The environment feels calm and inviting, designed to put families at ease and help them feel part of something supportive.
Those first moments of connection create a strong foundation, setting the tone for relationships that grow deeper with time and experience, and reinforcing the value of compassionate behavioral therapy for autism.
Growing Autism Therapy Services with Intention
Growth is guided not by numbers but by purpose. The focus has always been on listening to families, responding to community needs, and staying connected to the latest developments in behavioral therapy. Each step forward is thoughtful and deliberate, so the center can continue to grow without losing what makes it special.
New programs, such as classroom readiness and early intervention services, are introduced to give children the skills and support they need at each stage of development. Families gain access to more resources and opportunities for growth, while still experiencing the same consistent care and values they've trusted from the start.
Shaping the Future
The vision for the future is expansive and full of possibility, shaped by the belief that today's care can open doors to milestones once thought out of reach. Years from now, families will look back on achievements like a college acceptance, a first job, or new independence, and know that the support they received along the way helped make those moments possible.
At the same time, they will see how the center itself has grown, reaching more children with the same consistent values and personal touch they've always experienced. The heart of this work has always been about people—families, learners, and staff—growing together in trust and connection. As the center continues to evolve, that human touch will remain at the core, guiding progress and shaping futures with care.
